Urban Farmers Mushroom Training Days
Periodically, we run our 'Urban Farmers Mushroom Training Workshops'. These are aimed a people who would love to know more about the wonderful world of Mycelium and our special processes. We typically run these on a weekend from 10 till 4 and include lunch and soft drinks.
We begin with an introduction of ourselves and the farm and the driving ethos behind it- promoting local foods, repurposing wrongly labelled 'waste' and the importance of the 'circular economy'.
You would then have a tour of the facilities and a demonstration of various methods to grow oyster mushrooms and the mediums that can be used.
After lunch we then break into small groups where you will all get the opportunity to make up your own bags of mushroom substrate to take home and grow your very own, hand grown oyster mushrooms.

Corporate Activities
At Urban Farmers, we can also host 2 hour corporate learning and team building sessions. These are a great way for businesses to find out more about sustainability and can provide a fun way for your team to bond. It is a condensed version of the above workshop and the groups work in small teams, collectively producing their own bags of coffee / mushroom substrate which again they can take home and grow their own Oyster Mushrooms.
Schools and Scouts
We can also run learning sessions for schools and scouts organisations at a discounted rate. We feel that it is important to get the message across to the 'next generation'. Again this is a fun and hands on opportunity for all involved to learn about the virtues of sustainability and local production.
